Wifi speed

Hi all,

I've spent time to make my wifi card Linksys work under debian and i'm
thinking now I could throw the cables away!

My configuration is:

Laptop DELL Latitude C600
Wifi card Linksys WPC11
Router ADSL Wireless Prestige 650HW
kernel 2.4.18-bf2.4


But I am very surprise to see that the tranfer speed is about 11K/s
with the Linksys card, and 50K/s with the onboard network card, and I
was expecting it to be the same.

Does anybody know how I could try to debug this problem ? Is it a
normal behaviour?
