Plextor PX712SA Burner (SATA) does not work

I have a PX-712SA on an ASUS K8N-E (nvidia nforce250 chipset)
debian-amd64 testing, kernels 2.6.10 and 2.6.11 with libata,
ATAPI enabled. The driver is sata_nv.
Mounting/reading is fine.
When it comes to burning I get

and this goes on forever. Ctrl-C results in a zombie.
The Logfile shows only:
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x2

Any ideas?
