help debugging a printer config problem
I run a hplj5mp on a small home lan. It has been working
for several months on small print jobs, but today I tried
to pring the LateX manual ~100pgs, and it didn't work.
i.e. after submitting job from inside gv, the lights on
the printer flashed for a long while, but
nothing was printed, and after a while, the flashing stopped.
I tried printing a one page document, and it printed immediately
and correctly. I've looked for printer logs, but can't find
any that make sense (newest entries are from yesterday).
The system is a little more than a basic setup. I have the printer
connected to a server box, and my desktop box sends print files
over the lan. All software is Debian.
Googling doesn't give me anything useful, but maybe I'm not using
good search terms. Suggestions of where to look for clues in my
system and for howtos on the internet will be much appreciated.
