Hi Marty,
thanks for the saga! It will at least be able to be found in google
which may help someone. Also, any bug report is good to make. The worst
thing that can happen, is that it is marked WONTFIX or removed. And the
best thing is that it will help the maintainter. As a point of
information, at present locale data is stored with each package in
Debian, so there is no way to track these changes and reinstall them.
But if I read correctly, UBUNTU is doing what seems like a better thing.
IIUC, they have packages that contain the entire locale data for each
locale as a single package. Thus you can install and remove locales they
way you (and folks like me) would like to.
