Hello ,
Naturally I want to use my domain name , instead of ip addres for DEDICATED server(Sarge).But unfortunately I am absolutely beginner in that networking staff.
Could some one please advise me on what I have to do in order
to achieve this goal.
I am intermediate Linux user, so I believe the short summary of necessary steps would be enough and greatly helps.

1.What nameserver do I have to use?;
2.do I have to change the name of my dedicated machine itself?
3....

Thanks in advance,
Dmitry

You didn't say what you wanted the server to do, but I'm guessing email and web hosting right?

First thing, do you have a static IP address from your ISP? if not then you need to use a service like dyndns, but static is definately better.

Secondly, you either need to use a free DNS service like everydns.net, or you can setup your own DNS server using software like Bind (named)

Then you need to point your domain name to the DNS server that hosts your domains details, you do that though the registrar that you bought the domain from.

Then you need to setup Apache for web hosting and a mail transfer agent like Sendmail, Postfix, Exim or Qmail. Googling on any of those steps will get you more info then you know what to do with.
