Unfortunately, I don't think alien along will be enough. The problem is
that the RPM package is a source package. So, even in RedHat you should
first compile it and then install it. 

In the readme file which is in the origial message, they give instructions
as to how to compile it in RedHat. Now, my problem is ***how to translate
that readme file so that it is valid under debian***.
