It's ntp-simple.

ntpd is both server and client (so is chronyd). Either the ntp-simple
package or the chrony package will do what he wants (though as Chrony
maintainer I'm biased in favor of Chrony).

Ntpdate merely forceably sets the clock. Ntp and chrony compensate for
skew and constantly keep the clock synchronised.
