The key to tracking down such problems is to isolate possible causes one
by one. In addition to all the other good suggestions you've already
received...
Unless this is a server that has to be online 24/7, I'd suggest booting
with a live CD (Knoppix, Kanotix, etc) and then try Konqueror to see if
the problem still exists.
That doesn't necessarily prove it's a software problem though, because
you're eliminating the hard disk from the equation. But if all else
fails, actually installing Knoppix or Kanotix (I prefer the latter)
would be the last desperate measure.
