permsissions on mounted nfs drive from windows system

I have been trying to access some open office files on an XP machine from a
debian machine. I am at the point where I have added this to the /etc/fstab

//xphost/sharename /mnt/sharename smbfs
username=xpadministrator,password=xpadminstratorpassword rw 0 0

this allows the root on the debian machine to directly access and edit the
open office files on the XP machine, but no one else. I have tried to change
the permissions for the mounted drive, but have yet to find a way. I want to
give any user on the debian machine the ability to edit files stored in this
one directory on the xp machine...
