(For anyone subscribed to kde-devel: sorry again ;-) ) See the subject line for the error I'm getting. I don't know what causes it and Google just showed me a bunch of people having the same problem since 2001 (haven't seen earlier results, but that doesn't mean they're not there). What first irritated me was that after installing logcheck, I saw this message from cron: Mar 12 20:23:01 chicago CRON[8427]: Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info. every 15 minutes. I'm rather sure it's caused by the exim cronjob because the time matches and if I try su'ing to mail or daemon, I get: # su mail su: Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info. (Ignored) but the operation itself is successful. I can su to other users (didn't try them all) without a hitch, regular users as well as other users created by the system. I am not using LDAP, NIS or any other fancy backend, so what can be the cause of this? -- Got Backup? Jabber: Shadowdancer at jabber.fsinf.de
