Long-standing kernel foibles

File system busied by "init" on shutdown and will not dismount. The original
problem hung shutdown. I bypassed it with a "lazy" unount -l. Shutdown was
now clean. The ext3 journal recovers in reboot.

Has this been solved. I still get the journal recovery on reboot--do I take
out the -l and try it?

I remember having put in a lazy umount for some initrd stuff as well which
refused to unload on bootup. Never checked for a fix on that either.
