lpt printer not working

Hi 

I have a Minolta Pagepro 8L connectet to lpt it works in windows xp (i'm
dualbooting) but in debian all the job i sendt to it get cancelled? im
on debian sid and use cups. I have a usb printer as well it works just
fine.
I run on a 2.6.10-K7 kernel lp,parport_pc,parport loadet

what can i look for to get it to work, it worked before under suse 9.1
so i know it will work in linux.
