are you aware that "i" will cycle through various screens in the info panel?
not sure if this will have what you want.

Here's another aptitude question:
I understand that aptitude and synaptic are interfaces to apt.
Do they maintain the same db?
do they use the same sources.list?
is it a problem to use both?
