All IDE DVD burners run fine in Linux, AFAIK. I just had to return my
NEC 3500A because it failed, but have ordered a 3520A as a replacement.

When I first got my burner I had trouble getting burning speeds > 4x,
and also trouble burning DL media. But with recent updates to cdrecord,
growisofs, and k3b, those problems disappeared. Everything works fine.
