You'll find pretty reasonable documentation for it under
/usr/share/doc/mutt (and quite a bit more can be found online by
Googling).  Normal system-wide defaults are decent for new users, but
you'll likely want to tweak your ~/.muttrc file a bit to suit your own
situation.
