GPG user ID with accent in utf8

My locale is UTF-8. I'm generating a new key pair using gnupg. I'm not
able to enter an odd character (o with acute) as user ID.

Using:
- debian sid
- gnupg 1.4.0-1
- libreadline4 4.3-15
- locales 2.3.2.ds1-18
