Re: Burning DVD's

<snip>

This might be of some use to you, as others have said the ripping and
DVD burning are two different things. I found this in google groups,
which might be useful to you, seems that turning on DMA on his drives
solved his problem.

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/linux.kernel/browse_thread/thread/debdbb667fd4d10a/f5a56f8608f25df1?q=ide-cd+%2B+ripping+problem+%2B2.6&_done=%2Fgroups%3Fq%3Dide-cd+%2B+ripping+problem+%2B2.6%26qt_s%3DSearch+Groups%26&_doneTitle=Back+to+Search&&d#f5a56f8608f25df1

Others have stated that this works, I know I had a problem once
ripping an ogg off a music DRM ladden CD, verdict is still out, as I
have not had to test the problem since.

Temporary solution was:
rmmod ide-cd
modprobe ide-cd

This should be optimal then using ide-scsi to rip music, if you need
help burning DVD you can look at this page.

Hope this helps in your quest to solve your problems.
