The message at the start-up says: "LILO 22.61 Loading LinuxEBDA is big: kernel setup stack overlaps LILO second stage" I tried to reconfigure lilo ("dpkg-reconfigure lilo"), but that did not do it.You are probably going to need to re-run lilo. By executing /sbin/lilo This should fix the partition table install. If you need to modify the setup of lilo you should edit the /etc/lilo.conf file then re-run lilo. This of course all assumes that /dev/hda1 is really the root partition.
Not to trigger a flamefest or anything, but why on earth are people still using LILO? This is not the dark ages anymore. GRUB is much easier to use, and if you set it up to use symlinks (similar to LILO) you never have to reinstall it to the MBR when you change kernels (since it can just read for filesystem to get the new kernel). -Roberto -- Roberto Sanchez http://familiasanchez.net/~sanchezr
