Subject: cant get network with debian

Hi all,
i have the following /etc/network/interfaces file

iface eth0 inet static
    address 160.45.22.211
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    gateway 160.45.22.1

And the following /etc/hostname file

lithium.chemie.fu-berlin.de

All is supposed to be correct (i tested with another computer)

I stop/restart the networking (/etc/init.d/networking stop/start)
and still cannot get conected (even rebooting).
No ping, netstat -i brings nothing ...
Is there anything i forgot?

Thanks all in advance,
nader
