Re: Debian Rescue Floppy

you need to adjust the parameter rescue root=/dev/hda1 to fit your own needs... find out where your linux partition is some how... or continue trying root=/dev/hd[a,b,c,etc][1,2,3,4,etc]

You can also rescue using a regular debian install
disk with parameters like:

rescue root=/dev/hda1 or whatever.
Check addional options, or some menu like that in the
debian disk.

In past I inquired about how to use the "Debian

Floppy"; I got a few pieces of advice, but nothing
worked.
If you can CD-boot the system, use a Knoppix CD-ROM
instead of a
floppy. A 30-second search found this page:

http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-knopx.html
about doing just that.

I tried "root=/dev/hda1" , but got a message that the
kernel image was not found.
N.B. I don't have a usable CD drive to boot from. I
have to use floppies.
And I want to do it the Debian way, using "Debian
Rescue Floppies". Somebody has to know how one could
use them for the purposes of "rescuing"!
Thanks, Hearthstone.
