FYI, the Shuttle's I've seen do have all the parallel port infrastructure on their motherboard; they just don't have a connector. These connectors are sold separately (PC8 parallel port adaptor, http://eu.shuttle.com/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-123/554_read-1655/). They're cheap too: I paid less than 5 euro IIRC.
