How to stop discover managing optical drives? (was "lost DVD mounts...")

OK, I see what’s gone wrong  - I’ve (foolishly) allowed discover to manage my optical drive mount points, so it deletes the mount points every boot.

How do I reverse this?  Is it simply:

Dpkg-reconfigure discover1

And set the option back to “no”, or will this cause further problems?

Phil
