Can't upgrade gcc-3.3 (Device or resource busy)

When trying to upgrade (with apt-get upgrade) I get the following:
...
Preparing to replace gcc-3.3 1:3.3.5-5 (using .../gcc-3.3_1%3a3.3.5-6_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement gcc-3.3 ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/gcc-3.3_1%3a3.3.5-6_i386.deb (--unpack):
unable to install new version of `./usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-linux/3.3.5/specs': Device or resource busy
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/gcc-3.3_1%3a3.3.5-6_i386.deb
...

If I try to move the file /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-linux/3.3.5/spec to
another name I again get the same message: "Device or resource busy"

Any idea how to fix this?
