Re: NIS setup



I tried this a year ago without any success, and eventually converted
back to passwords. However, since then I installed LDAP for the same
effect and much more successfully.  Both Linux and Mac clients can use
it much more easily for, and even Windows clients can be bullied into
working with it with samba or pGina. There's also a whole swag of
software out there on all platforms that uses it for name resolution and
can query it for password authentication. If you need some sample client
files I can send you some. I found this site particularly helpful;
