Hi,
a last note:

I am running fetchmail (with ssl support) to fetch my emails. And compared
to my laptop's fetchmail installation it was so slow.
I uninstalled fetchmail and installed it again (with dselect) and since then
it is running in normal speed.

Is this a coincidence or can it depend on the reinstallation?
