I am trying to do it on a FAT32 filesystem which of course is strongly 
objecting :)

PS Of course on ext3 it works aok

PPS This is a disaster for me :( I had hoped moving my bloody WINE/Notes 
parasite onto my large and WinXP shared FAT32 partition :( :( :(
