No idea.  Try comparing what you have in /etc/cdrecord and /etc/default
on the two machines.  Just copy or adapt what works to what doesn't.  Cdrecord 
works with that config file, and it's really uphill to do it any other way, 
as you can see in the info doc.  daveA
