I have a lot of sympathy for Knoppix users coming here -- I myself have
3 systems that were installed via Knoppix because the debian installer
failed to recognise hardware.  I have had _no_ problems migrating to
standard debian, and think the Knoppix route is excellent.

That said, I have installed two days ago from the new installer (latest
net-install build of 12/12/04), and was very impressed.  It complained
several times about missing modules for network interfaces, but
magically found them when it needed them, and completed perfectly.  I'm
minded to try it out on one of the systems that were previously only
possible with Knoppix, as an experiment.
