Rerun "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" and blank out the field for PCI 
Bus ID (or manually comment it out in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, but this 
method will henceforth break the dpkg-reconfigure method).

"lspci" will give you the appropriate numbers for the PCI BusID, if you 
know how to decode the numbers. (One's in hex; one's in decimal; I 
forget which. Also, there's some formatting difference which confuses.) 
In most cases, the PCI Bus ID is optional on x86 hardware.
