I don't know what urxvt is, but I can not scroll anything in gnome terminal if I use screen. It works after reseting the gnome terminal. I don't know how it is called in an english version - in my german version there is a menu "Terminal", and the last menu point should be something like "reset and empty". After using that I can scroll.
