When I typed "kmix" in a terminal (rxvt) I got that message twice but
then the thing came up.
Go to kcontrol and set the release time for your desktop noise
to one second. The default of 15 seconds is *ridiculous*. I
am not an expert, but I suspect that will be nirvana. daveA
