ne2k-pci ignores full_duplex=0 setting

Hi y'all:

Since I switched from kernel 2.4.26 to 2.4.27 the ne2k-pci module ignores
the option full_duplex=0 and is running full duplex as default.
I tried kernel 2.6.7 and now am running 2.6.9-1-k7 on Sid.
It is still the same.

My /etc/modutils/ne2k-pci:
alias eth0 ne2k-pci
options ne2k-pci full_duplex=0

modinfo ne2k-pci tells me this:
filename: /lib/modules/2.6.9-1-k7/kernel/drivers/net/ne2k-pci.ko

Of course I did update-modutils
modules.conf:
### update-modules: start processing /etc/modutils/ne2k-pci
alias eth0 ne2k-pci
options ne2k-pci full_duplex=0

What did I miss here?

Thank you for your time
Saludos
