And yes, if I login to xserver as root, every thing works perfectly
fine. Why does it give problems with a normal user?

I don't think that this is got some thing to do with the applications. I
think there is some thing with the environment. Some of the X
applications seem to work in the end, only that they take a long time to
start as well as move from one click to the other. They just freeze of
10 minutes. Even when I select the logout button of the gnome, its gets
stuck for 10 minutes. This all is abnormal.
