Re: cd burning problem

Hello,

Because I thought the problems might have been caused by a mistake I made with the 2.6.8 kernel, I compiled a 2.4.27 kernel and setup scsi emulation again;
Now, cdrecord can see the emulated scsi device:

jorishuizer@debian:~$ cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord-Clone 2.01a34 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2004 Jörg Schilling NOTE: this version of cdrecord is an inofficial (modified) release of cdrecord
and thus may have bugs that are not present in the original version.
Please send bug reports and support requests to <cdrtools@packages.debian.org>. The original author should not be bothered with problems of this version.

Linux sg driver version: 3.1.25
Using libscg version 'schily-0.8'.
scsibus0:
        0,0,0 0) 'LITE-ON ' 'LTR-48246K ' 'SKS7' Removable CD-ROM
        0,1,0 1) *
        0,2,0 2) *
        0,3,0 3) *
        0,4,0 4) *
        0,5,0 5) *
        0,6,0 6) *
        0,7,0 7) *

But cd burning won't work; This error log shows nothing changed by the (huge!) move to scsi... (trying to blank the CD)

Can anyone tell what causes this error -- and what to do about it? It does the same when I try to blank the CD as root

`dmesg` doesn't give anything special, it just ends with the scsi stuff,

SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
hdc: attached ide-scsi driver.
scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices
  Vendor: LITE-ON Model: LTR-48246K Rev: SKS7
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Attached scsi CD-ROM sr0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 40x/48x writer cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray
Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.12

I tried to search on this but I haven't been able to find solutions for this problem...

I hope you can help,

regards,

Joris
