Go get a copy of Knoppix from http://www.knoppix.net/ and boot from
the Knoppix disk.  Then use parted or qtparted from the Knoppix disk
to do your resizing and partitioning in one fell swoop.

That's not surprising, my store still sells floppy drives regularly,
though we have long since stopped carrying floppies altogether.  It's
sort of a dead critter.

No problems.  I suggest making a 10 or 15MB /boot partition at the
beginning of your drive to help avoid potential problems with older
BIOS and large disks, though.
