I know 2 options in order to workarround this issue:

1. Overwrite the kernel on the rescue disk.

You can see how to achieve this on the chapter 
"10.3 Replacing the Rescue Floppy Kernel"
In the installation manual, in this way you compile
your own kernel and get the correct driver.

2. Download the floppy drivers and use the option to
load additional drivers from a floppy on the
installation screen.

The other chapter is on:

"10.4 Preloading Existing Modules".
