Setting vlock to verbose logging

Hi All

Has anyone any idea of whether, and how, it is possible to tweak vlock
to more verbose logging in /var/log/* ?

I found that simply changing this line in
/etc/pam.d/vlock from,eg

auth required pam_unix.so

to

auth required pam_unix.so audit

didn't help at all. Actually the 'audit' flag should have done the job,
but it didn't, AFAICS

In the end I found that the first setting:
auth required pam_unix.so
probably was set up at compile time of vlock. But does the latter mean
that once this was set up at compile time that I can't change the
logging behaviour via
/etc/pam.d/vlock
forever? Because in the end this would mean that the entry in
/etc/pam.d/vlock probably would be of only a cosmetical value, at best
.... Or what did I miss ... ?

*Please* tell me someone that I don't have to recompile vlock for
verbose logging ...

Regards
and thanks in anticipation
