Try answering the questions you've already been asked twice before:

As Carl asked:

Can you ping a known IP address (e.g. 194.109.137.218, which is
www.debian.org)? What if you traceroute to it? What does "sudo
ifconfig" report? Paste the relevant part of /var/log/messages into
your reply, too.

Kent is this what u want I am sorry about posting it so many times. I just install Debian 3.0r2 about 2 days ago. I am still not getting online or going any where. The other disto that I had install was RedHat 7.0 i did not have any problems connecting to the internet.

here is the log file that u wanted :

No, please. Just the "relevant" part of the logfile, not the whole thing.

Still, this is a start.

It looks like diald seems to be causing some issues. I'm not really familiar with diald (or even with dial-up anymore - once you go broadband, you just can't go back), but I think it automatically initiates a dial-up connection when an internet connection is needed. It looks like you're manually starting ppp (perhaps via kppp or pon, etc), and then when you try doing internet stuff, diald kicks in and wreaks havoc with your already-established connection.

I'd suggest removing diald for now, and see if that makes any kind of difference.

Also, it's recommended that you keep the conversation on the list, so that that:

1) other folks, often more knowledgeable than a single individual, can add their suggestions

2) the questions/answers get archived on the Debian site, which can be of value to people with similar problems in the future.
