Prinitng aborts

Hi,

Using Sarge with Cups (and a HP Deskjet 6122 but I think this is 
irrelevant), I used to be able to print alright. (Well I never detected 
any problem but the installation is recent and I haven't had the need to 
print much at the beginning.)

Now, it doesn't work anymore : the first few lines are printed then 
printing aborts and the page is ejected as if printing was done. The 
number of lines printed varies  from one job to another and sometimes 
everything gets printed normally.  I wasn't able to detect any pattern as 
to when the problem arises.

I don't think I did anything special to break the system (apart from 
regular apt-get upgrade).

The applications I print from are usually OpenOffice or Xpdf (the latter 
using either lpr or xpp).

Sorry not to be more specific but I just haven't got a clue.

Any suggestion (where to look for error messages, what to try to get a 
better diagnostic), any help (what to reconfigure or reinstall) or any 
experience is warmly welcomed. My holidays are over and I need to regain 
full printing ability really quickly so this will be a major problem 
soon.
