Yup, you can do this. Since u own the domain, you can go to ur registrar 
and give the names and addresses of the new nameservers. That should do 
the trick. It might take a while before it propogates throughout the net 
though.

Well, I'd say try out DJBDNS. A long while ago, when I wasn't much aware 
of DNS etc myself, I had tried installing DJBDNS on my machine. I found 
the docs and help etc quite good, and it was a breeze installing it.
