Modem not recognized?
I am running a new installation of Sid and can't seem to get the modem up.
lspci -vv shows:
02:0a.0 Serial controller: 5610 56K FaxModem 56K FaxModem Model 5610 (rev 01)

There is a line from dmesg with the above port and irq:
ttyS14 at I/O 0xdfe0 (irq = 22) is a 16550A
However, there is no ttyS14 in /dev/. Do I need to make it somehow?
I also have Fedora running on this computer. It recognizes the modem fine.
/dev/modem -> /dev/ttyS4
I tried setserial as follows:
setserial /dev/ttyS4 uart 16550A port 0xdfe0 irq 22 autoconfig
ln -sf /dev/ttyS4 /dev/modem
I followed this with "pppd call provider". I don't believe it activated the
modem.
Any thoughts as to how I might proceed?
