depends on your hard- and software. 
In my case, vmware 3.2 doesn't work with the 2.6 kernel, my wacom 
graphic tablet doesn't work correctly and ACPI doesn;t work on my 
machines... other things I haven't tested so far. I just switched back 
to 2.4...

Anyways, be prepared to downgrade again if things don't work out for 
you. Maybe it would be a good idea to use a Knoppix or similar 
Linux-on-CD system with a 2.6 Kernel and test if everything works.
