      The  driver will auto-detect the amount of video memory present for all
      chips except the Millennium II.  In the Millennium II case it  defaults
      to 4096 kBytes.  When using a Millennium II, the actual amount of video
      memory should be specified with a VideoRam entry  in  the  config  file

Yes, the default video memory size of 4MB is correct. The interesting thing is, in MS Windows 2000, this 4MB allows me to display 1280x1024 with 24 bit colours. In Debian, I can only get 1280x1024 at 16 bit colours.

(*At the end, 16-bit or 24-bit do not mean too much to me.  Getting 1280x1024 made me very happy already. 8-() )
