it means if you have 2 identical, i mean identical ( same manufacturer
parts ), than the one with the "-u1" option defined will see about
a 10% faster performance over say 2hr time doing the same task
	- ie doing 100 kernel compiles in 2hrs vs 110 in the same 2hrs

your p4-2.4 will look like a p4-2.8  or amd-2000+ will look like a
amd-2200+

and if you set the wrong hdparm options for your disk, you can erase
all your data or corrupt one byte here and there and now, you have
to find that 1 corrupt byte out of 200GB ( it's happened and repeatable)
