Can anyone help me with configuring sound?
I don't have a clue on how to do it .
Here is my insmod history:
------------------------------------------------------------------------

jim@debian:~$ su
Password:
debian:/home/jim# insmod dmasound_core & insmod dmasound_pmac
[1] 980
Using /lib/modules/2.4.25-powerpc/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound/dmasound_core.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.25-powerpc/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound/dmasound_pmac.o
insmod: a module named dmasound_core already exists
/lib/modules/2.4.25-powerpc/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound/dmasound_pmac.o: /lib/modules/2.4.25-powerpc/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound/dmasound_pmac.o: unresolved symbol i2c_smbus_write_byte_data_R10f19b2c
/lib/modules/2.4.25-powerpc/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound/dmasound_pmac.o: /lib/modules/2.4.25-powerpc/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound/dmasound_pmac.o: unresolved symbol i2c_detach_client_R13852119
/lib/modules/2.4.25-powerpc/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound/dmasound_pmac.o: /lib/modules/2.
I've never tinkered with sound on a PPC, so can't really offer much guidance, but you might try "modprobe" instead of "insmod".

Also, there's a Debian PowerPC list that might have folks that will be better able to answer your questions (http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/).
