USB webcam microphone not working

Hi!

So I've finally got my Logitech Quickcam 4000 pro to stream video, but I can't get any sound from the microphone. The USB sound is loaded as a module (snd-usb-audio) at startup, and I think that's all I should need. The usbaudio is registered by the kernel:

Basically I've tried "cat < /dev/dsp1 > /dev/dsp" and I can't hear anything (my sound is working fine). I'm thinking that it's a silly volume problem, except that I've tried adjusting the mic settings in alsamixer to no avail. Should there be a usb mic setting in there?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks
