With that, we mean the deprecated Pseudo-TTY allocation, which is
turned on in her kernel.

The kernel is Debian-stock 2.6.5.

Furthermore, it seems that X selection within Matlab ain't working.
We can paste, but selection does not replace the copy buffer. Could
this be related?

I am sorry, d-u for throwing questions on proprietary stuff at you,
but Matlab is commonly used, and you're always so helpful!
