Okay, as you're not the first to suggest this, I just tried it.  I think
it's faster for me to type 'c=in<tab>' than it is for me to contort my
ring finger onto the '1' while my pinky hits shift.  I probably should
have developed a habit of using the right shift key once in a while, but
I haven't.

So, faster, maybe.  Easier for me, no.  Also, my method allows me to
browse my mail folder if for some reason I brainfart on how to get to my
inbox, rather than having to remember to search for spoolfile in the
mutt docs.  Not so much of a problem now, but might have been when I was
first learning to use mutt.
