Same distro (Debian of course :-) on both boxes?
May be it sounds silly, but do you have `Antialias' turned on in gv's
State menu?
There is also a "Antialias Device" setting (predefined AFAICT) under
State > Ghostscript Options. Mine reads "-dNOPLATFONTS -sDEVICE=x11alpha".
No clue with ggv, but even though my LaTeX-generated postscript files
are always properly antialiased in both programs, I frequently stumble
upon butt-ugly downloaded .ps files (antialias doesn't work for
them). And I know no trick for those...
