You've probably got different priorities in both boxes for font packages.
Have a look through dselect in the select option, which you can do without actually selecting anything, and you'll be surprised at how many different font packages there are. If you think of switching from apt-get to dselect for installation though, be careful, it's an extremely different proposition.
You can use it to find out what packages are available though, and then install those with apt-get.
It might pay to install 'abiword-plugins' too, if you haven't already done so.
